POLYURETHANE APPLICATIONS

The technologies adopted at the enterprise make it possible to produce polyurethane systems that could be used for various purposes.
Polyurethane materials are widely used in construction and in various kinds of repairs. This includes polyurethane sealants, poured-in-place floors, pipe- and other kinds of insulation, decorative elements, paints and varnishes, as well as various other kinds of materials.
Modern light industry cannot do without the active use of polyurethane materials. If particular demand are synthetic polyurethane fiber (lycra, spandex), textile materials padded with double- or triple-ply elastic PU foam, underwear accessories and shoulder pads made of elastic PU foam, as well as shoe soles made of microcellular polyurethane.
Due to the unique combination of low density with wide-range hardness and exceptional wear resistance, polyurethanes firmly occupied their niche among the polymeric materials used in heavy industry.
Polyurethane materials are neutral with respect to various tissues and fluids of the human body; moreover, products made of them are of low specific gravity and of high strength. Foamed PU materials are characterized by high load-carrying capacity and unsurpassed comfort properties. This makes polyurethane indispensable in the production of items used for medical and biological purposes.
Polyurethane coatings and thermal insulation have long been used in aviation and rocket engineering, due to their low coefficient of thermal conductivity along with the chemical and abrasive resistance. Exceptional comfort properties of PU foam secured its uncontested application as the filling agent for air transport seats. Viscoelastic PU foam was developed specifically to reduce the negative impact of overloads on astronaut's body.
Shipbuilding is yet another sphere where polyurethane materials are widely used. Special polyurethane sealants, water-resistant adhesives, varnishes and elastomeric coatings, as well as foamed materials for thermal insulation, seats and composite products are only some of the areas of these materials' use.
It is impossible to imagine the interior of any modern overland vehicle without polyurethane details. The combination of high load-bearing capacity with excellent comfort properties and durability made elastic molded PU foam an indispensable material for seat stuffing. Polyurethane materials are widely used in the production of other parts, components and assemblies of vehicles.
Almost immediately after their invention, polyurethanes (especially those of foam kind) got to be widely used in the production of consumer goods, thus partially replacing traditional materials. It is a well-known fact that the items made of moulded and block-structured elastic PU foam are widely used in the production of soft elements of furniture and household sponges.
